Digital afterlife technology is transforming the consciousness in digital. This technology in the future will change the perception of death, which might evolve into celebrating the deathday, which becomes a new form of digital existence. This would lead to a change in funeral culture, and the physical body's value would diminish.

‘Unverified Momentum’ projects how people in the future will perceive death and interact with the new digital existence. The project is based on the future scenario of uploading the consciousness in the digital is part of our essential life cycle after humans physically die. The space that I designed involves the function that people can bid farewell to the death of the physical body, regenerating the deceased body either into new energy resources or transforming their consciousness into digital, and a place where visitors who come to celebrate the death can give blessings and honour the deceased new birth as a digital existence.

 

The project aims to visualise the invisible transforming of the consciousness into digital process, which can than be visualised by VR technology and showcase how the visitors and deceased will navigate and experience the space. Unverified Momentum’ provokes the audience to redefine their understanding of death with the afterlife in digital and expand the cognition of human existence in a new concept.
